Children’s House of Durango enrolls students based on a wait list process and in a non-discriminatory manner. Existing students are served first, then priority goes to siblings, alumni, and public wait list children, respectively. Students will be considered based upon available class space at the time of application. Children’s House of Durango reserves the right to place a child in a classroom with respect to age, gender, and curriculum needs. The Director reserves the right to adjust enrollment placement of children at any time.
Children's House of Durango enrolls children ages 3 through 6-years-old. The earliest age we accept on our wait list is 18-24 months. Our wait list is created one year prior to the upcoming school year and opens the first business day in May. Only phone call will be accepted the first day beginning at 7:30 a.m.
In order to maintain the Montessori philosophy of mixed ages and to create a balanced classroom we place children on our wait list based on age and gender. Our wait lists are based on a first come first serve basis and each age group has a set limit of 8-10 students per list. A child's placement on the wait list does not guarantee a spot for enrollment. Enrollment takes place in April each year and the Director will contact each person on the wait list to announce whether there is a spot available for the upcoming school year.
